Plane & Pilot Awards
Pilots can sign up for one of many annual awards given at the event: Youngest Pilot, Oldest Pilot, Newest Plane, Oldest Plane, and Farthest Distance Flown to KTVI. We’ll also be looking for the First on the Field, Cutest Dog, and the Best Base Camp.
Arriving at TVI
Please fly an FAA standard left traffic pattern; enter the pattern on a forty-five degree leg. Please avoid using a straight-in approach on any runway.
Use your radio to self-announce your position and intention. According to the Aeronautical Information Manual, Chapter 4-1-9g, “traffic in the area please advise” is NOT a recognized self-announce position and/or intention phrase and should NOT be used at the fly-in.
